(information from cowolfcenter and The Coloradan)

Hello! Hello! This post is a very unfortunate one with the lethal removal of the lone Copper Creek wolf pup named “Freedom’.

“Freedom survived so much.”

After he was separated from his pack while they were being captured and relocated to a different area of Colorado as a months old pup, ‘Freedom continued to navigate a landscape filled with challenges.” He was responisble for 22 livestock depredations. CPW tried every nonlethal trick in the book and yet he still outsmarted them. CPW tried shooting him, but he survived that and continued in his search for a pack of his own.

On June 12th,2026, CPW lethally removed Freedom.

“No matter where you stand on this decision, it’s difficult not to feel disappointed. Freedom’s story was one of resilience and survival against incredible odds. For many, he became a symbol of Colorado’s returning wolves.”

“Today, that story has come to an end.”

Freedom was given his name for his resilience. He was separated from his pack at 6 months old, survived, developed a taste for cattle, outsmarted CPW multiple times, and was lethally removed.

Thank you for reading this post! Have a great day/night! AWOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
