Hello! Hello! I know I haven’t posted in while and for which I’m sorry. I just started middle school a few days after I got back from Oregon, so I never really found the time. Now that I have started school again this means I will try and post on the weekends, and my wolf talk schedule will now be every other week. Anyways, CPW just released the cause of death of wolf 2504F who died in January.
In January a ‘coyote hunter’ was out hunting coyotes when he thought he saw one. Excited he pulled the trigger and found that it was a wolf wearing a bright orange radio collar, there is a law that says you must know what you’re shooting before you pull the trigger. The man reported to CPW and cooperated during the investigation; he received a small fine for the killing of the wolf, but CPW is pressing no further charges.
You cannot mistake a wolf for a coyote for the difference between them is quite easy to spot. A wolf has a rounder snout and rounded ears and is a lot bigger than a coyote. Furthermore, coyotes are smaller, and they have pointy ears and snouts.
This is very unfortunate for Colorado’s wolf recovery.
Thank you for reading this post have a great weekend!! AROOOOOOOOOOOOO
