Wolf Conservation Efforts

An act that’s being repeated. Wolves once a conservation success story, are being attacked…. AGAIN. Politics driven by myth are causing fear, and that fear is turning into anger. Misinformation had shaped what people think of wolves.

🐺 Mexican gray wolves are one of the most endangered. “Numbering over just 300 and descending from just 7 wolves.” Permits are being handed out by ranchers to shoot them.

🐺 “Northern Rockies- protections have been stripped in parts of Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming.” (Outside of Yellowstone). These trapping and poaching laws are “undoing decades of wolf recovery,” and pushing their populations back down.

🐺 Now Congress is trying to strip protections entirely even in states where there aren’t any wolves or where there’s few.

This has happened before, in the early-mid 1900s. We need to stop this NOW!! Wolves aren’t the villains history has shaped them to be. They put ecosystems in balance, without them, we’ll see what’ll happen to the ecosystems that hasn’t been seen in almost a century. (aka last shooting of a Yellowstone wolf as in 1926)

I know this topic is grim, and I don’t want to write about these things. But we need to spread the word in save wolves!!!
